Join our NEW Parish Spiritual Adoption Prayer Initiative

Everyone loves the beauty and innocence of a baby. As an expression of that love, St. Patrick Respect Life Ministry announces a NEW Spiritual Adoption initiative for everyone!

We know the gift of human life is precious. Yet, sadly, we also know that not all newly conceived babies come to birth. Many parents experience the loss of a child before birth due to miscarriage or even abortion. Through the Spiritual Adoption initiative, we are asking you to pray a child to birth – asking God for health of the baby, and to give the parents of these children the grace they need to face whatever difficult circumstances in which they may find themselves.


Spiritual Adoption has three goals:

  • PRAY for babies, that “they may have life and life to the full,” and for parents who are expecting a child.
  • LEARN and EDUCATE others about the development of the preborn child.
  • SUPPORT mothers in need with donated baby gifts.

How does it work?

  • Each participant or family signs up to participate in Spiritual Adoption.
  • By signing up, each participant or family pledges to pray the St. Patrick Parish Spiritual Adoption Prayer once a day for nine months.
  • Upon signing up, each participate or family will receive a Spiritual Adoption Packet from the Respect Life Ministry. To download a packet, click here.
  • Each month the participant will receive via Flocknote a thank you note from the baby that will include information regarding the baby’s development, a word for reflection, and a reminder to recite the daily Spiritual Adoption Prayer.
  • Upon completion at the end of nine months, each participant will receive a “Certificate of Spiritual Adoption” via email/Flocknote. In addition, during the month of May, all will be invited to a Celebration of Life event in which gifts will be donated to a local pregnancy center.

When does Spiritual Adoption begin?

  • Spiritual Adoption Sign Ups will begin the weekend of September 7 & 8, 2024. Regular monthly emails will begin on 9/15/2024.
  • Participants may sign up after all Masses by filling out a pledge card or….
  • You may sign up anytime during the nine months from September to May. Sign up cards may be found in the Narthex or….
