Southern Chester County Project Life is proud to introduce The Gabriel Project. This is an outreach program comprised of this cluster of our four parishes designed to provide friendship and support to women in crisis pregnancies. This would mean that volunteers, upon receiving a call for help, would serve as an "angel." Angels will provide needed transportation to and from physicians, and have a one-on-one connection with the mother to help out with concrete needs as they arise.
Pregnancy brings change. Whether unexpected or planned, the presence of a tiny child causes physical and emotional changes a mother may never have experienced before. The Gabriel Project provides help to many pregnant women who have found themselves in difficulty or confusion. For many it has been a welcome refuge, providing housing, counseling, and love during a trying time. For some it has been a saving last resort when they had no place to turn. Above all, the Gabriel Project has provided a hopeful future for lives that otherwise may have had non.
How does The Gabriel Project work? Any woman who is pregnant and in need may come to the church to seek assistance. Our local hotline number (610) 869-6500, which is the West Grove office of Catholic Social Services, may also be used. A coordinator, who is a member of the parish's Respect Life Committee, sees to it that a Gabriel Angel gives each woman who calls or comes in personal attention, becoming acquainted with the mother's circumstances and needs. Those needs are then presented to the parish and the parish responds with concrete help...
Each Gabriel Angel remains as a contact to the expectant mother, walking beside her throughout her entire pregnancy. Gabriel Angels also take their place on the Gabriel Hotline, open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
For more information please contact the West Grove Catholic Social Services Center at (610) 869-6500.
